We are a growing and fun small structural engineering firm located in the East Bay and we are looking to hire a structural designer. Our firm works on a diverse mix of custom residential, multi-family, and commercial projects in the surrounding San Francisco Bay Area.

We offer a flexible work schedule and ask for a high level of responsibility in return. All employees are their own project leads in responsible charge for their projects with a supportive team offering co-pilot support and mentorship.

Someone who’d work well on our team would:
• Be a self-starter that requires little management (we are operating completely remotely at this time)
• Have good communication skills to independently engage with clients for project coordination, but knows when to ask for help
• Have a couple years of engineering design experience

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Being in responsible charge of leading a project to completion
• Preparing calculation package for permit submittal
• Preparing plans and details for residential/commercial projects, mostly wood-framed
• Team members are all project leads and will be asked to manage calculations and plan package for each job

QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience with above listed responsibilities
• Basic CAD fluency
• Familiar with use of Enercalc, RISA and other engineering software
• Strong knowledge of timber design and previous wood-framed design experience
