Holy Family Day Home
Holy Family Day Home is the oldest early educational center in San Francisco, operating in the Mission Dolores District since 1912. This new ground up three story structure is located across from the Historic Mission Dolores. Holy Family Day Home’s previous structure at this location was a Willis Polk building that was severely damaged by the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake. The new structure is composed of conventional timber construction and evokes the image of a “home” complementary to the Willis Polk structure it replaced. Large sized vent opening in the exterior walls provide venting for the mechanical equipment housed in the attic floor.
